Tax Manager

Matthew Brown, EA, CTC, CTRC, is the owner of Renewal Tax Services, LLC, and provides Personalized Tax Planning, IRS tax resolution and representation services, and tax preparation. He is most passionate about relieving his clients’ stress and burden of tax-related matters, including helping them keep more of their money, staying up to date with current tax return and reporting obligations, resolving back tax issues, and avoiding letters from the IRS, among other concerns.

Matt is an Enrolled Agent, which is a designation earned directly from the IRS after passing a series of comprehensive tax exams. He is licensed to represent taxpayers in all 50 states of the United States. He started preparing tax returns professionally in 2010, because he enjoyed doing his own after he kept finding mistakes in returns he had paid to have prepared for himself. Simply put, he wanted to help others get better service than he had received. Matt is also a Certified Tax Representation Consultant, having satisfied Education and Testing requirements for that certification.

In 2025, Matt earned his Designation as a Certified Tax Coach (CTC), which denotes financial expertise, tax planning excellence, and outstanding customer satisfaction. All Certified Tax Planners attend an intensive training academy and are required to complete 24 additional hours of continuing professional education in proactive tax planning each year. Professionals with the Certified Tax Coach designation know how to save their clients thousands of dollars that would otherwise be wasted on unnecessary taxes.

Matt earned his Bachelor’s degree from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and his Master’s degree in Regional Science from The University of Pennsylvania. Born and reared in Miami, Florida, Matt has enjoyed living in both the NYC Metro and Washington, DC Metro areas, but he has since settled in the Greater Philadelphia area with his spouse, Wayne, and Corgi, Theo.
